ABOUT

I'm a Registered Clinical Counsellor, and I grew up right here in Chilliwack. This valley is home. I married my high school sweetheart, we're raising two kids together, and faith has been a thread running through my whole story — the sense that we're built for connection, and that we heal in relationship rather than alone.

I also know what it's like to struggle. From the age of sixteen and through much of my young adulthood, I lived with panic attacks, anxiety, and depression. I know that diagnosis from the inside — the racing heart in an ordinary moment, the low grey weeks, the private conviction that something is wrong with you. I found my way through it, and part of what carried me was people who were willing to sit with me and stay curious longer than I could on my own. That experience is a large part of why I do this work now.

WHY I DO THIS

Simply put, I love people. I find them endlessly interesting. Everyone who sits down across from me is carrying a complex, beautiful story, and it's a genuine honour to be let into it — especially in the hard moments, the crises, the seasons where nothing feels clear. I love good questions, and clients often tell me they leave a little taken aback by the ones I ask, in the best way. Mostly they say they felt heard, and understood, sometimes for the first time in a long while.

HOW I WORK

I work slowly, and I work with what's actually there. A lot of what I do draws on Internal Family Systems, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and somatic work — approaches that go underneath the thoughts and into the parts of you that have been carrying things for a long time. I've watched marriages find their way back to each other, people step out of addictions that once ran their lives, and clients do deep inner healing and integration work that changes how they move through the world. I don't take any of it for granted. Change is possible, and it tends to happen when someone is properly accompanied.

If any of that resonates, I'd love to hear from you.

Part of Doing Family Right

I see clients as part of the team at Doing Family Right, a faith-based counselling practice that has served individuals, couples, and families across the Fraser Valley for over a decade. Being part of DFR means I'm not working in isolation — I'm surrounded by a large, experienced team of counsellors, coaches, and recovery specialists, with Care Centres in Chilliwack and Abbotsford and support available online across Canada.

If you're looking for care that takes your faith seriously, you'll find it here. And if you're full of questions, or somewhere in between, you're just as welcome — that's true of my practice and it's true of DFR.
